The S7 Series is John Deere's most advanced mid-range combine, rebuilt from the ground up to bring X9 technology into a machine sized for a wider range of operations. The S7 comes in four models: S7 600, S7 700, S7 800, and S7 900, with increasing capacity across the lineup. All four run a John Deere PowerTech 13.6L engine, and all four share the same cab design as the X9, giving operators improved visibility and comfort compared to the previous generation.
Predictive Ground Speed Control is one of the standout features on the S7. Using forward-mounted cameras and pre-harvest satellite imagery, the combine generates a predictive yield map and automatically adjusts ground speed before entering changing crop conditions, not after. That means fewer reactive speed changes and more consistent machine utilization through variable crop areas. The enhanced grain loss monitoring system, now standard on the S7, uses twice as many sensors on the cleaning shoe compared to previous models, giving you more accurate loss data directly in the cab.
The PowerCast residue management system delivers even residue distribution up to 45 feet, using a combination of straight blade knives and mechanical drive. More consistent residue spread improves next season's seedbed conditions and reduces the concentration of crop debris that can cause compaction or tillage issues going into spring. The system conserves up to 15 horsepower compared to previous residue handling designs.
The X9 1000 and X9 1100 are John Deere's flagship high-capacity combines, designed for operations that need to put the most acres behind them in the shortest harvest window. The X9 1100 can harvest up to 30 acres per hour in wheat, and the dual 24-inch rotors deliver 45 percent more threshing area and 80 percent more separating area compared to the previous generation. That combination of capacity and separation efficiency makes the X9 the right choice for large-acre operations running high-yielding corn and soybeans where throughput directly affects profitability.
Despite its capacity, the X9 maintains nearly the same outside dimensions as the previous S790 for transport and road travel. The 23 percent wider feederhouse is paired with three power-folding extension options, and the Predictive Ground Speed Control system uses stereo cameras and satellite field images to continuously adjust speed based on actual crop conditions ahead, not behind. The G5 Display gives operators a larger, faster, cleaner interface for managing machine data and settings in real time.
